The Spark That Started It All
Picture this: A 19-year-old working gruelling shifts aboard a vessel in the harsh waters off Scotland's coast. That's where our founder, Jack Barrie, faced a seemingly simple problem that would spark a revolution in fitness innovation. Relying on supplements to fuel his demanding offshore routine as an NDT technician in the Black Sea, Jack watched in frustration as his protein shakers—all four of them—failed one by one, leaving him with lumpy, undrinkable shakes. But sometimes, the most challenging conditions inspire the greatest innovations. After discovering that 85% of gym-goers shared his frustrations, Jack spent three hours after each exhausting shift crafting makeshift prototypes from whatever materials he could find on the vessel. This wasn't just about fixing a broken shaker—it was about revolutionising how athletes and fitness enthusiasts fuel their performance.
Our First Prototype
With unwavering determination, we transformed those early vessel prototypes into our first 3D-printed designs. Every detail was meticulously crafted through collaboration with an extraordinary network of minds—professional athletes, coaches, yoga instructors, and fellow fitness enthusiasts. Their insights weren't just feedback; they were the building blocks of something revolutionary. This year also marked a crucial milestone as we filed multiple patent applications, protecting the innovative technology that would set Strømeshaker apart.
